Axial Fans

As part of a strategic choice aimed at greater diversification of production, ACOVENT has developed a complete series of axial fans to meet the most diverse market needs.

These axial fans can be used in fields such as:

  • Evaporative cooling towers
  • Industrial ventilation systems
  • Marine ventilation systems
  • Ventilation of tunnels, road and rail tunnels
  • Subway ventilation
  • Wind tunnels for aerodynamic testing

MH FANS

The production of "MH Acovent" axial fans features diameters from 710 mm to 4300 mm for medium-heavy performance applications and is based on very strict specifications and meticulous design, both aerodynamically and structurally. The blades are made of extruded aluminum with high corrosion resistance. They feature a variable-pitch airfoil and cover a vast performance range. The hub is made of carbon steel sheet and, upon request, aluminum or stainless steel. All steel parts are protected with electrolytic galvanizing. The operating temperatures of these impellers are:
  • Standard series: -20° / +150° C
  • Special series: -50° / +150° C

MOTOR FANS

Directly coupled axial fans
The standard production of directly coupled fans, meaning with the fan mounted directly on the motor shaft, is built in fundamental diameters ranging from 700 mm to 2150 mm. The performance of these units depends on the performance of the impellers used. The housings of the impellers consist of mild steel sheet cylinders with flanged ends. The motor support, also in mild steel sheet, is fixed to the cylinder by welding (bolting is available upon request). The flanging can be obtained by flanging the cylinder or by welding. The standard surface finish treatment is painting. Other treatments are available upon request. They are built in two basic versions:
  • Short case "C" in which only the impeller is housed while the motor protrudes outside the case.
  • Long case "L" in which both the impeller and the motor with its support shelf are housed.

For both versions, accessories for installation completion are available. Upon request, the housings can be supplied with different materials such as special steels for low or high temperature (-50°C / > 150°C), Corten, stainless steel, and aluminum. Fans with configuration and testing for naval applications built according to RINA specifications and/or other European control bodies are also available.

Axial fans with transmission
Where the high temperature of the transported fluid requires the motor to be mounted outside the housing, or to reduce the rotational speed of the fan, systems with belt (V-belt or toothed belt) or gear reducers are available, in which the motor is offset from the fan and generally outside the housing. The standard range of this type of fan includes normalized diameters from 710 mm to 2150 mm with V-belt transmission for all possible variants of installed motors and fans. Fans to customer specifications up to a diameter of 5000 mm are also available. The housings are constructed similarly to those of directly coupled fans. The fan shaft can be made of monoblocks or designed shafts with appropriately sized support bearings to bear the imposed loads. The standard surface protection is painting, but other types of protection are available upon request. These fans are available with double-flanged housing configuration and with the full range of accessories available for directly coupled fans. Larger fans, although not currently standardized, can still be provided to customer specifications. In addition to standard configuration fans, Acovent can supply fans with configurations specially designed for customers.
